A 30-year-old man presents with worsening jaundice and epigastric pain radiating to the back for 3 weeks. There was no history of anorexia, nausea, or vomiting. No other symptoms were present. He had not experienced similar symptoms in the past.

His medical, surgical, and family histories are unremarkable. He is not on any medications or supplements. He only drinks socially, consuming between 1 to 2 units of alcohol per week on average. He does not smoke or use recreational drugs.

A full blood count is within normal parameters. An ECG is also normal.
